Ticket & Arena Policies
The Grand Rapids Rise is not responsible for lost, stolen, destroyed, or forgotten tickets. Please remember that match tickets are like money and should be secured like cash. Tickets lost, stolen, or destroyed before the match may be replaced by contacting the Grand Rapids Rise Ticket Operations Department. Only the account holder may request and receive replacement tickets. Please be prepared to present a photo ID, the actual credit card used for the purchase, the confirmation number, and the exact seat location.
The Grand Rapids Rise reserve the right not to replace lost or stolen tickets. Account holders caught fraudulently requesting replacement tickets are subject to account cancellation and other legal remedies that may be available to the Grand Rapids Rise. As a security measure, tickets for the Grand Rapids Rise are printed on thermal paper. The writing on the face of tickets is burned onto the ticket surface rather than printed. Tickets stored in cars, especially glove boxes on dashboards or other places of extreme heat, may turn completely black and become unreadable. This can happen even if they are in an envelope. The Grand Rapids Rise may be unable to issue relocation passes if the original seats cannot be determined. Tickets should be returned to the point of purchase to determine if they can be replaced. This cannot be done over the phone. Any ticket that is reprinted makes the original ticket void, as the barcode is deactivated.
All matches are 'Rain or Shine' events. Only in extreme inclement weather are matches canceled or postponed. Rain and snow are not considered inclement weather. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone a match, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined.
Please visit our Group Tickets page here or contact the Grand Rapids Rise Group Sales Department by calling (616) 575-6500 on special pricing for groups of 10 or more.
General admission tickets are only available when there are no available seating options. These tickets are always marked ‘GA’. Guidelines for general admission tickets are handed out when a purchase is considered. General admission tickets do not guarantee a specific seat location. General admission tickets allow you to sit in an unused seat no earlier than 25 minutes after the scheduled match time. Should a ticket holder arrive with a ticket for the seat you occupy, that ticket holder has priority over you. You will need to vacate that seat.
Grand Rapids Rise flex tickets can be redeemed at any time before the match at The Zone or any of the ticket sales windows at the box office one and one-half hours before the start of the match. You may exchange flex tickets online through your Rise Account Manager if selected. Flex tickets cannot be redeemed over the phone and must be redeemed in person or online (if applicable).
Mobile tickets are delivered specifically designed for Apple Wallet and Google Pay/Google Wallet. Mobile tickets are sent to you immediately after purchase or accessible on your Rise Account Manager using the credentials created at purchase. You will receive two emails after your purchase - one will be your tickets, which can be scanned on your smartphone or added to your digital wallet, and the second email will be your order confirmation email, which does not include actual tickets.
No exchanges are allowed for individual match tickets. This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket. Full Season and 20-Game Plan tickets may be exchanged before a match day under the "Never a Wasted Ticket Program" subject to availability. Once a match is played and your season ticket has gone unused, it is no longer exchangeable.
Children under (the age of) two are admitted free of charge and are expected to sit in a parent’s lap. Children 2 years and over must have a ticket.
eVenue and Paciolan are the only authorized ticket-selling agents of the Grand Rapids Rise. StubHub is the only authorized marketplace of the Grand Rapids Rise. The Rise are not responsible for authentic tickets purchased from any other source. Any counterfeits or invalid tickets will not be honored. If you purchase from a non-authorized agent, you risk purchasing a lost or stolen ticket that is not valid for admittance into Van Andel Arena for the match. Van Andel Arena and the Grand Rapids Rise employ scanning technology for match admittance.
Purchasing tickets for Grand Rapids Rise matches at Van Andel Arena can be done at the team’s official retail provider, The Zone, located on the west side of the arena (tickets purchased at The Zone incur a $1.00 service charge per ticket), online through our website, or at the Van Andel Arena box office on match day (one and one-half hours before game time). Tickets purchased online or by phone incur a $4.50-$5.50 fee per ticket.
Acceptable forms of payment include cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Personal and company checks are not accepted. All credit card transactions will appear on your bank statement from "GR RISE HOCKEY."
Vouchers, season ticket exchanges, and flex tickets can be redeemed at The Zone or the ticket sales windows at the box office on the night of a match. Only originals will be accepted. These are redeemed based on availability, so it is suggested to redeem them at least one week before the desired match. College student tickets are available only on Thursday and Saturday matches and are limited to one ticket per student ID per person. Library card tickets are available only on Wednesday and Sunday matches and are limited to up to four tickets per library card.
Any ticket packages offered by the Grand Rapids Rise do not apply to day-of-match sales and are unavailable through the box office or The Zone. All package sales must be done at least one day before the desired game through the Grand Rapids Rise Ticket Sales Department.
The Grand Rapids Rise' box office opens 90 minutes before the match's scheduled start time. The turnstiles generally open one hour before match time. The box office remains open until the end of the first set. After this time, tickets can be purchased and/or picked up (will call tickets) at The Zone until the end of the second set. After this time, tickets are no longer available for that night's match; however, tickets for future Rise home matches are available to purchase at The Zone.
The Grand Rapids Rise does not handle ticket sales for other Van Andel Arena events. For more information regarding Van Andel Arena events, please call (616) 742-6610, visit the box office during regular business hours, or visit the Van Andel Arena website.
Will-call tickets will only be released to the person whose name appears on the will-call envelope or whose name was provided in the transaction. Tickets are alphabetized by last name of the person picking them up. First and last names are required for any tickets left. Company names are not accepted. No person will be given tickets designated for another person without prior authorization. Proper photo identification (valid driver's license or passport) is required to claim your tickets. Your order confirmation number and purchasing credit card may also be required, if applicable, or in lieu of a photo ID. Name changes will not be accepted via the telephone, and information regarding will-call tickets will not be given out over the phone.
You can upgrade your seat location with a flex ticket voucher or any voucher involving complimentary tickets. The price charged will be the difference between the face value of your current seat price and the face value of the upgraded seat price on a per-ticket basis.
The ability to upgrade tickets is based on current ticket availability. Previously purchased tickets, including single game, special packages, and other offers, are not eligible for upgrade. All ticket voucher upgrades must be completed during the initial purchase.
Suites and hospitality areas are not available to purchase on match days. Prior arrangements must be made through the Grand Rapids Rise Group Sales Department by calling (800) 2-HOCKEY. Supplies and locations are limited.
Under MCL 750.465 (2), if the resale is being done with the written permission of the owner, lessee, operator, or manager of the theater, circus, athletic grounds, or place of public entertainment or amusement where the event occurs, then the sales can be made at locations other than the box office where the event occurs. The owner, lessee, operator, or manager must know and provide written permission to charge more than the box office price.
There are no refunds for tickets purchased. This stipulation is marked on each ticket. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined. Once payment is received, the customer CANNOT cancel an order and receive a refund or exchange tickets for any reason. Please verify that the seat location, quantity, and match date are correct before purchasing. All sales are final.
Van Andel Arena enforces a strict no-re-admission policy. Any guests exiting the facility will not be allowed re-admission.
Tickets will not be released or held without payment. Payments may be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express only. Checks will be accepted for ticket packages through the Grand Rapids Rise sales department only and cannot be used for single-match sales.
Designated handicap seating is available in upper bowl sections 225, 226, 227, 228, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 210, and 220. Limited lower bowl handicap seating is available. Companion seats are available in the same sections. If accommodations are needed in place of an advanced-purchase ticket, please visit guest services behind section 104 to receive relocated tickets to a handicap-accessible seating area.
Van Andel Arena has adopted a No Bag policy, permitting no bags, backpacks, or purses, other than those required for medical or parenting needs, into the venue. Small clutches no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 2" will be permitted. Bags in the medical/essential category will be screened by security personnel.
Guests with parenting/medical bags must enter through the ADA/Box office entrance located on the far west side of the main entrance of the building to undergo additional security screening.
The No Bag policy reduces contact between guests and security staff by eliminating the need to search for these items. This is part of ongoing efforts to promote a contact-free experience. This Policy is subject to change based on event policy.
