ATLANTA, Ga. (February 8, 2024) – The Atlanta Vibe (3-0) are set for their next home match as they host the Grand Rapids Rise (1-0) on Friday night at Gas South Arena. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. and will be streamed live on the Pro Volleyball Federation’s YouTube page here.
The Vibe and the American Heart Association are teaming up to encourage Vibe fans to wear red for the team’s first ever “Red Out” on Friday night in recognition of National Heart Health Awareness Month. In their journey to educate the public about healthy habits and share lifesaving tips and resources, the American Heart Association will be educating Vibe fans about heart health throughout the match with facts, tips and useful resources. Concourse activations will certify young Vibe fans as “Heart Healthy Kids,” and a portion of proceeds from all red merchandise sold at the match will be donated to the American Heart Association.
The Vibe are coming off a 3-0 sweep over the San Diego Mojo in Atlanta’s home opener last week, and the Rise are fresh off their own 3-0 home sweep over the Columbus Fury. Atlanta and Grand Rapids are two of only three teams that have yet to suffer a loss so far this season after the Vegas Thrill picked up their first win earlier this week.
Following her 20-point performance in last week’s win over San Diego, Vibe outside hitter Leah Edmond was named the Pro Volleyball Federation Player of the Week, making her the second Atlanta player to claim the honor in the same number of weeks after Alli Linnehan won the first award in Week 1.
Ahead of Friday’s match, middle blocker Magdalena Jehlářová was able to join the Vibe and will be active. Jehlářová (yell-uh-HAH-shuh-vuh) was a four-time AVCA All-American at Washington State and brings six years of experience with the Czech Republic National Team to Atlanta.
Tickets for Friday’s match are selling quickly but are still available through the Vibe’s website here. Atlanta will return to Gas South Arena Monday evening (Feb. 12) to host the Orlando Valkyries, whom Atlanta defeated in five sets on the road in their second match of the season.
