Selected with the 10th overall pick in the second round, Flormarie Heredia Colon joins the Columbus Fury after a stellar career at the University of Miami (FL). Heredia Colon capped off her collegiate career by being named Miami’s first ever AVCA First Team All-American. The AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist notched her fourth straight All-ACC honor and led the NCAA in kills (719), points (8.15), kills per set (6.25) and points per set (7.09) for the majority of the season, while maintaining second in the ACC in aces per set (0.54) and total aces (62). Heredia Colon also broke the Miami record for all-time career kills with 1,836, while breaking the single season record and was a three-time record breaker for most kills in a match (43). For her career she played in 121 matches and 442 total sets, recording 1,896 total kills, 765 digs and 219 total blocks.
