Paula Cerame comes to Columbus by way of Orlando, where she played for the Valkyries in their 2024 inaugural season. The Puerto Rico native moved to South Florida with her family when she was 13 so she could pursue sports. Also talented at tennis, Cerame had to choose one to focus on as a teen, so she chose volleyball because she enjoyed the team environment.
Close with her family, she enjoys spending time with her younger brother and her parents. Her father Jose attended the Ohio State University. She is on the Puerto Rico National Team with Fury setter Wilma Rivera, and was once on the Puerto Rico National Badminton Team. Her cousin, Paulina Prieto-Cerame, played for the Vegas Thrill in 2024.
A self-professed workout freak, Cerame loves pilates and staying active. She also loves a good coffee date with friends, and says she never tires of the beach. Cerame lends her time to several non-profit organizations, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico.
