NORCAL RUMBLE WELCOMES MIDDLE BLOCKER SERENA BRUIN
The NorCal Rumble announced the signing of middle blocker Serena Bruin, a Pac-12 product who brings four seasons of professional experience across Europe.
Bruin spent four seasons at Oregon State University, where she made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting 20 matches and finishing with 74 blocks, including a season-best nine in a win over No. 23 Washington State. As a sophomore, she helped the Beavers reach the NCAA Tournament, recording four blocks against NC State. In 2018, she came off the bench to post 12 blocks at San Diego State, tying for the second-highest single-match total in program history. She closed her collegiate career as a senior in 2019 by playing a career-high 24 matches, tallying a season-high 10 blocks against Gonzaga and a career-best nine kills in her final collegiate appearance at Oregon.
Following her time in Corvallis, Bruin took her game overseas. She began her professional career with Arctic Volley in Norway during the 2022-23 season before moving to Germany, where she competed for Rote Raben Vilsbiburg in 2023-24 and Ladies in Black Aachen in 2024-25. Most recently, she played for Quimper Volley 29 in France during the 2025-26 season.
Now, Bruin brings that experience to the Bay Area, joining the NorCal Rumble ahead of the team's inaugural 2027 season at Tech CU Arena in San Jose.
