MLV NorCal has announced that four-time NBA Champion and 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala has joined the team’s investment group.
This announcement comes at a high-profile time for the MLV NorCal organization. They announced Tech CU Arena as their home venue in August 2026 and will be unveiling their official team identity, branding, and inaugural creative in late September 2026.
"Andre and I have crossed paths for years in the investment world and I've always respected how he thinks about building something that lasts," said Theresia Gouw, MLV NorCal Majority Owner. "He also knows the Bay Area's championship standard better than almost anyone. That instinct is exactly what MLV NorCal needs as we build something people believe in, on the court and in the community."
"The Bay Area is where I built my career and I've stayed close to Theresia through our work in venture capital ever since," said Iguodala. "When she laid out the vision for MLV NorCal, it was an easy yes. Volleyball already has one of the strongest grassroots followings in sports and with my daughter loving the sport, I'm excited to help build something with real staying power here."
Iguodala's addition strengthens the championship pedigree of an already formidable ownership and investment group. The four-time NBA Champion and 2015 Finals MVP joins former Golden State Warriors teammate and two-time NBA Champion Zaza Pachulia (MLV NorCal Investor) and three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings (MLV NorCal Owner and Chief Impact Officer).
He also brings a strong investment background to the team, with ventures across technology and e-commerce including Coinbase, Dapper Labs, DataDog and Zoom. Iguodala co-founded Mastry Inc and serves as the Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
MLV NorCal will begin competition in 2027 as part of Major League Volleyball, a professional volleyball league committed to elevating the sport while creating lasting opportunities for elite athletes.
