Draft Lottery Results Finalize Order For Fourth League Draft In November
The MLV Draft Lottery results are in, setting the order for the upcoming collegiate player draft prior to the 2027 season. With five additions to Major League Volleyball set to take the court for the upcoming season, the lottery determined the selection order and gives teams a clear picture of where they will select in the draft – which is slated for Monday, November 23.
The No. 1 overall selection goes to the Vegas Thrill, who returns to MLV under new ownership. Vegas will welcome Rachel Morris as their head coach and have already announced several key players for her roster. MLV Los Angeles will make the second choice of the first round, with head coach Alisha Childress at the helm after leading her team in San Diego to the postseason a year ago. The remaining lottery picks will be made by the No. 3 Minnesota Forge, No. 4 DC Flight and No. 5 NorCal Rumble.
For the second round, a separate draft lottery was conducted to determine the top five teams. MLV Los Angeles grabbed the top pick in round two, followed by Minnesota, NorCal, Vegas and DC.
Remaining selections in each round were determined in order of regular season record for both rounds. The two-round draft will take place in November at a date to be determined, prior to the start of the NCAA Volleyball Championship and MLV training camps. Players who are completing their fourth or fifth season of college eligibility are eligible for the Major League Volleyball Draft.
