Indy Ignite and Partners Volunteer to Help Hoosier Flood Victims
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 16, 2026) – Indy Ignite front office staff traded their volleyball gear for hammers and crowbars Wednesday, joining forces with some of the team's partners to help Hoosier flood victims.
Ignite staff along with employees and executives from Guardian Angel Restoration and Williams Comfort Air, met at a private home in Noblesville, Ind., to pull up floorboards and remove flood-damaged parts of the house. By the time they finished several hours later, the house was ready for the next phase of cleanup and reconstruction.
Hundreds of structures in Noblesville, including the home the Ignite team worked on, were damaged by record-breaking flooding last month. The disaster forced the evacuation of about 170 residents, caused widespread power outages and affected other areas of the Indianapolis region.
Wednesday's work was organized by Serve Village, a nonprofit community organization that connects people through volunteer projects. More than 1,600 volunteers have helped with the effort over the last five weeks, said Patrick Propst, executive director of Serve Village.
"The power of the volunteers we have been able to mobilize over the last few weeks allows us to take the financial burden off those who have been directly affected," Propst said. "We are able to send our volunteers, and they can help clean out flood-affected areas or damaged homes."
While the volunteer effort was designed so anyone could lend a hand, Indy Ignite also recognized the importance of having professional restoration experience on site. The Ignite reached out to its Official Restoration Partner—Guardian Angel Restoration. Guardian Angel’s team joined Ignite staff, Serve Village volunteers and other community partners to bring their experience in water and flood restoration to the effort. Together, volunteers and professionals worked side by side to safely remove flood-damaged materials and help move the home one step closer to recovery.
“When our partners at the Indy Ignite reached out and asked us to serve alongside them, there was never a question of whether we would show up. These aren’t simply damaged houses. They are the homes of our neighbors, families and friends who are trying to rebuild their lives after a devastating event,” said Michael Talbot, founder of Guardian Angel Restoration. “God has blessed our team with knowledge, resources and experience that can make a difference in moments like this, and I believe we have a responsibility to use those blessings to serve others. Restoration may be what we do every day, but restoring hope and peace of mind is why we do it.”
