New Owner Michael Landier Brings Long-Term Vision for Professional Volleyball Team and a Distinctly Las Vegas Experience
Rachel Morris Hired as Head Coach and Team Unveils New Look
HENDERSON, NV (August 3, 2026) - The Vegas Thrill announced its return to Major League Volleyball under new owner Michael Landier, alongside the appointment of Rachel Morris as head coach and the introduction of a refreshed team identity. The Thrill will return to Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson for the 2027 MLV season, which begins in January.
A Southern Nevada resident for nearly two decades, Landier is the founder of Landier Entertainment and a longtime supporter of the region’s professional sports community. His vision is to establish the Thrill as a lasting part of the Las Vegas sports landscape through elite competition, year-round community involvement and a live experience designed for local families and volleyball fans.
"I've called Nevada home for nearly two decades and have had a front-row seat as Las Vegas has transformed into a major league sports market," said Landier. "As a fan of the Vegas Thrill and a longtime supporter of our sports community, bringing the team back is especially meaningful to me. We're ready to build something special for Vegas fans by delivering the elite competition, family-friendly atmosphere, and memorable experiences that define Major League Volleyball."
Landier’s background in entertainment production will help shape the Thrill’s approach to the in-arena experience. The organization plans to combine professional volleyball with high-energy presentation, family-friendly entertainment and community programming throughout the year.
“Las Vegas is one of the premier sports and entertainment capitals of the world, and professional volleyball deserves an elite home here," said Major League Volleyball Commissioner Jaime Weston. “There is something special about bringing back a team that already holds a place in the community's heart, and the return of the Vegas Thrill marks an exciting milestone for both our league and the Southern Nevada fans who have supported us from day one. This new leadership group, led by Michael Landier, brings the right combination of local passion, entertainment expertise, and long-term vision to build a world-class franchise. Returning home to Lee's Family Forum, the Vegas Thrill will deliver an exceptional fan experience, and MLV is proud to support the franchise as it continues growing the game across the region.”
The Thrill named Rachel Morris as head coach. Morris most recently served as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Indiana University, where she helped lead the Hoosiers through the most successful four-year stretch in program history.
During her tenure, Indiana set program records for overall and Big Ten wins, developed multiple All-Americans and established one of the country’s most efficient offenses. Morris has also been recognized by Volleyball Magazine as one of its Under 40 College Coaching Hotshots.
“I am incredibly honored to lead the Vegas Thrill at such an exciting time for the organization,” said Morris. “Michael and the leadership team are committed to creating the kind of environment where athletes can develop and succeed. We are going to build a competitive team that plays fast, fearless volleyball and represents this community with pride.”
"We're excited to welcome the Vegas Thrill back to Lee's Family Forum this upcoming season," said Foley Entertainment Group Chief Business Officer Rob Foley. "Our organization is committed to offering a diverse array of family-friendly sports to our community across the valley. Fans of our teams can now watch world-class sports including volleyball, hockey, football, and lacrosse without even leaving their neighborhood. That level of access is exactly why Lee's Family Forum was built."
The Vegas Thrill will announce its 2027 roster, schedule, ticket information and additional organizational initiatives separately in the coming months.
The organization also unveiled a refreshed visual identity that will be introduced across team uniforms, merchandise, digital platforms and the match-day experience.
Beyond competition, the Thrill plans to build a consistent presence throughout Southern Nevada through youth clinics, school programs, player appearances and partnerships with local volleyball and community organizations.
“Fandom is earned,” Landier said. “We intend to earn it by delivering memorable experiences at Lee’s Family Forum and by showing up for this community throughout the year. We want young athletes across Southern Nevada to meet our players, learn the game, and see what is possible for them.”
