MLV NorCal Announces San Jose, Tech CU Arena As Home For 2027

MLV NorCal, Northern California's professional volleyball team competing in Major League Volleyball (MLV), has officially announced that San Jose will serve as the team's home city, with Tech CU Arena as its home venue for the inaugural 2027 season.

The announcement was made during a community celebration at San Pedro Square Market, bringing together the San Jose Mayor, partners, and supporters to mark a historic milestone for professional women's sports in Northern California.

"Today's announcement represents a defining moment for MLV NorCal," said Heather Vaughan, President of MLV NorCal. "San Jose is a city with an incredible passion for sports, innovation, and community. We couldn't be more excited to call Tech CU Arena our home as we begin building a championship organization that will inspire the next generation of athletes and fans."
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Tech CU Arena provides an intimate, energetic environment that will create an exceptional matchday experience for fans while serving as the home court for one of Major League Volleyball's newest franchises.

"As one of the nation's premier volleyball hotbeds, Northern California deserves a professional team that reflects the passion and talent throughout the region," said Kerri Walsh Jennings, Founding Owner of MLV NorCal. “San Jose has always been home, so being part of the ownership group bringing professional women's volleyball to this city is incredibly meaningful to me. I can't wait to help build a team that our community is proud to call its own.”

MLV NorCal will begin competition in 2027 as part of Major League Volleyball, a women-founded and women-led professional volleyball league committed to elevating the sport while creating lasting opportunities for elite athletes. “In just the past few years, San José has welcomed professional women’s soccer, hockey and now volleyball—and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer on MLV NorCal at Tech CU Arena,” said Mayor Matt Mahan.

“We’re building the women’s sports capital of the country, and we’re proud to have MLV NorCal as a partner in making that vision a reality.”
