Get-to-Know Player Spotlight: Raven Colvin

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 16, 2025) – On August 7^th, the Atlanta Vibe signed middle blocker Raven Colvin as a free agent. Raven was selected as the 7th overall pick in the 2024 league draft, standing out among a pool of 40 elite college athletes. She competed at Purdue University for her collegiate career, earning her the honor of being a two-time AVCA All-American and securing All-Big Ten First Team selections in both 2023 and 2024.

Growing up, Raven was always one of the taller kids, setting her up to pursue an athletic career. While basketball seemed to be an obvious path, she decided to turn her energy toward track and field. That all changed in 7th grade, when she decided to try out for the school’s volleyball team, soon realizing that she was most passionate about volleyball. It didn’t take long before she was hooked, as she quit track in 8^th grade to completely put her efforts into the sport she loved.

At Purdue, Raven put up tremendous blocking numbers, one of the biggest assets in her game. In her collegiate career, she put up 642 total blocks, totaling the most on the team three out of her four seasons as a Boilermaker. Raven’s younger brother, Myles Colvin, was able to see his older sister thrive at Purdue, as he competed for the men’s basketball team during Raven’s last two years in West Lafayette.

Outside of volleyball, Raven has a love for fashion and flair. Known among her friends for her style, she enjoys bedazzling clothes and accessories, often giving old jerseys a second life with her signature sparkle. Whether it’s rhinestones, patches, or custom designs, Raven brings personality to every piece she touches.

When she’s not on the court, you’ll likely find Raven treating herself to a much-needed self-care day. Her idea of a perfect off-day includes spontaneous massages and running errands — with favorite stops like Ulta, Sephora, and Trader Joe’s. At the beauty stores, her go-to treats are perfumes, body scrubs, and luxurious lotions, all part of her routine to stay refreshed and grounded. The Vibe are excited to introduce this Midwest native to Atlanta for the upcoming season!
