Four MLV Players Lead United States To NORCECA Final Six Title

The United States Women’s National Team swept Mexico (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) to win gold at the NORCECA Final Six in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The U.S. went undefeated (7-0) and won the tournament for the second time. In five editions of the Final Six, the USA has won two golds (2023, 2025), two silvers (2022, 2024) and a bronze (2021).

Statistically, the United States team led in kills (40-30), blocks (7-6) and aces (6-3). Reagan Cooper of the Omaha Supernovas was named MVP of the tournament while teammate Norah Sis was tabbed as Best Receiver.

The USA team cruised through the match and was never really threatened, although Mexico had a 14-11 lead midway through the first. The U.S. righted the ship after a Mexico service error and kills from Cooper and the Atlanta Vibe's Khori Louis. At 18-18, the U.S. broke it open by scoring seven of the last eight points.

The U.S. never trailed in set two, using six points from Cooper to win 25-17. In the third, the U.S. took the lead at 5-4 and never looked back to win 25-19.

Cooper led all scorers with 16 points (15 kills, one ace), and Louis also hit double figures with 11 points on seven kills, two blocks and two aces. Sis had eight points (seven kills, one ace). Elena Oglivie from the Grand Rapids Rise  led all players with 19 digs.

In addition to the USA players efforts, San Diego Mojo libero Shara Venegas helped Puerto Rico place fourth. She tallied 118 digs (4.21/set) - the second-best mark in the tournament -  while finishing third among receivers with a 26.17 percent efficiency rating. Venegas and Puerto Rico have placed in the top four at this event three times in the last four years.
