ATLANTA, Ga. (August 26, 2025) – The 2026 Cardinal alumni match was a success, having our very own Aiko Jones returning to her alma mater to compete against the current no. 4 Louisville 2025 roster. Competing in the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena, the match held a sold-out crowd of 1,010 fans.
Sold-Out Crowd for Cardinal Alumni Match
Jones put up six kills in the four-set match, along with five digs and two aces. Some of the loudest in the crowd, the Bellarmine volleyball team came to support their assistant coach, having their roles be reversed for a night. In the image below, you can see the team captured, putting their hands together to cheer on Aiko.
The Alumni All-Star team fell to the no. 4 Cardinals in the first two sets, yet fought back in the third to win 23-25. The Cardinals took the final set over the alumni, winning in front of the sold-out crowd.
