San Diego’s Shara Venegas has been honored with the final Pro Volleyball Federation Player of the Week presented by Franklin Sports of 2025.
Venegas guided the San Diego Mojo to back-to-back home victories to close out the 2025 campaign with victories over the Columbus Fury and playoff-bound Indy Ignite.
Her week was highlighted by a stellar performance in the season finale on May 3 against the Ignite, as she helped the Mojo rebound from a first set loss to take down Indy in four sets. She collected a career-high 26 digs, three shy of the San Diego record and the most for a Mojo player in a four-set match.
The feat was marked by a nine-dig effort in set two to kick off the rally and was followed by a seven-dig third set to keep the momentum going. Venegas added four assists in the win to finish averaging 6.5 digs and one assist in the match.
She began the week with an 11 dig, four assist performance in leading San Diego to a sweep of Columbus on Thursday, the first sweep of the season for the Mojo. Across the two matches, Venegas had 37 digs and eight assists, averaging 5.29 digs and 1.14 assists over the seven frames played to help the Mojo to an unbeaten homestand.
Venegas will receive a Kendra Scott Volleyball Pendant Necklace in white mother-of-pearl. The award is part of PVF’s partnership with Kendra Scott to advance a mutually shared goal of empowering girls and young women and supporting organizations with that same mission.
