The Orlando Valkyries completed the first worst-to-first turnaround in PVF history with a 3-1 victory over the Indy Ignite on Sunday to win the 2025 BIC Soleil Pro Volleyball Federation Championship at Lee’s Family Forum.
Along with raising the Championship trophy, Orlando’s players will share the $1 million prize that goes to the PVF “Match For A Million” champion every season.
Setter Chompoo Guedpard handed out 37 assists and opposite hitter Brittany Abercrombie registered a PVF championship match record 27 kills to lead the attack. Guedpard took home Championship Most Valuable Player honors for her performance, which also included a team-high 12 digs. Abercrombie, who was named PVF’s regular season MVP on Saturday, posted a 44 percent kill percentage and a .387 hitting percentage in the match.
Indy was led by Azhani Tealer, who finished with 16 kills. Sydney Hilley dished out 37 assists and Elena Scott added a championship match record 16 digs in the loss.
The victory is the first PVF championship for the Valkyries and capped a season that saw Orlando rebound from an 8-16 record and tie for last place in PVF’s inaugural 2024 campaign. The Valkyries finished the 2025 campaign with an 18-10 regular season mark before taking down the No. 2 seed Atlanta Vibe in Friday’s semifinals to reach the title match.
The 2025 season concludes with Pro Volleyball Federation athletes playing before more than 430,000 fans throughout the league. Every single one of the 116 matches overall were broadcast, including 45 on national networks.
