No. 4 Indy Upsets No. 1 Omaha To Advance at PVF Championship

LAS VEGAS (May 9, 2025) – The No. 4 seed Indy Ignite opened the 2025 BIC Soleil Pro Volleyball Federation Championship with an upset, topping No. 1 seed Omaha, 3-2, at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nev. – just outside Las Vegas. It was a stellar back-and-forth match, which posted final set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-20 and 15-13.

The final result marked the second time in two seasons of PVF postseason play that the No. 4 seed has toppled the No. 1 seed. For the Ignite, it was the second straight victory over the Supernovas, after they posted a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) on March 22. Prior to that, Omaha had won the first three matchups of the 2025 campaign between the teams.

Outside hitter Nina Cajic led the way for the Ignite, finishing with a match-high 25 points, 21 kills, eight digs and four blocks. She has had double-digit kill totals in the last four matches she has played. Three other players finished with double-figure kills in the match – Anna DeBeer (16), Lydia Martyn (14) and Azhani Tealer (10). Setter Sydney Hilley, who was the PVF Championship Most Valuable Player a year ago, posted 59 assists in the win.

For Omaha, outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller recorded 23 points on 22 kills, the third time this season she has had 20 or more kills in a match. Outside hitter Reagan Cooper chipped in 18 kills, tying her season high – while adding 10 digs. Setter Mac Podraza had a match-high 62 assists.

The Ignite will face the winner of the Atlanta Vibe vs. Orlando Valkyries match as the 2025 BIC Soleil Pro Volleyball Federation Championship continues on Sunday at Lee’s Family Forum. Tickets are on sale now and fans can purchase tickets for the championship match that will take place on Mother’s Day Sunday at 1 pm and be broadcast by CBS Sports Network.
