For the fourth time this season, a Grand Rapids Rise player has been honored with Pro Volleyball Federation Player of the Week presented by Franklin Sports. Rise middle blocker Ali Bastianelli gets the nod after a season-high performance over the weekend.
Bastianelli registered a season-high 20 kills on 37 attack attempts in the Rise’s road match at Atlanta. She also added three blocks to up her league-leading mark to 84 and her career total to 146. Bastianelli has totaled 25 blocks over her last five matches. This is her first career PVF weekly honor.
She joins Carli Snyder (January 28), Erika Pritchard (February 4) and Paige Briggs-Romine (April 8) as the four Rise players honored in 2025, the most for any PVF squad this season.
Bastianelli and her Rise teammates will be in action twice at home during the final week of the regular season, On Wednesday, April 30 Grand Rapids faces Orlando at 7 p.m. ET on Roku followed by a Friday, May 2 matchup against Omaha on FS2 at 7 p.m. ET.
Bastianelli will receive a Kendra Scott Volleyball Pendant Necklace in white mother-of-pearl. The award is part of PVF’s partnership with Kendra Scott to advance a mutually shared goal of empowering girls and young women and supporting organizations with that same mission.
