After dropping their third straight to Grand Rapids, Orlando [2-4] returns home to Addition Financial Arena, looking to get back on track against the defending champion Omaha Supernovas [3-2] on Sunday, February 2, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action streamed live on Pro Volleyball Federation’s YouTube channel.
Battle of Efficiency: One of the more interesting matchups in this will be how Orlando’s aggressive attack will play against Omaha, who ranks second in the league in opponent efficiency at 19%. With also being top half in the league in blocks per set (2.25) and digs per set (17.20), Omaha’s stout defense will be up for a tall task trying to slow down Orlando, who ranks in the top three in numerous categories such as service aces, hitting percentage, points, kills, and kill percentage.
This will be the first meeting between Orlando and Omaha this season, with Omaha leading the all-time series 4-0.
Valkyries Players to Watch:
Natalie Foster (Middle Blocker): The former second round pick continues to shine as one of the best rookies in the league, already ranking second in the league in hitting efficiency (40.3%) and second in service aces with 10. She racked up a new career high with 12 kills as well as five blocks, four digs and a service ace against Grand Rapids.
Courtney Schwan (Outside): Schwan matched her career high of 11 kills Thursday night, providing an offensive spark and playing a pivotal role in helping the Valkyries take set one and three against Grand Rapids. Coming off a match where she finished with a 31% hitting efficiency against the best blocking team in the league, she’ll have to have a similar mindset versus another strong defensive team in Omaha.
Supernovas Players to Watch:
Kaitlyn Hord (Middle Blocker): The top blocker in the Pro Volleyball Federation this season, Hord comes into this contest with a big opportunity to add on to her impressive season. Averaging .95 blocks a set and 3.8 per match, Hord will look to have similar success to that of Grand Rapids, who tallied a season-high 18 blocks versus Orlando on Thursday night.
Brooke Nuneviller (Outside Hitter): Nuneviller, Omaha’s go-to option, has already racked up 84 kills in 20 sets of play this season. After being awarded PVF All-League First Team in 2024 and named to the Preseason All-League Team, Nuneviller continues to provide a great two-way presence for Omaha, both offensively and defensively, where she averages a double-double (16.8 kills and 14.8 digs) on the year.
