MATCH NINE PREVIEW – VALKYRIES VS IGNITE

After securing their second sweep in a row versus the Atlanta Vibe on the road, Orlando [4-4] returns home, looking for a taste of revenge as they face off against the Indy Ignite [4-3] on Saturday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m. ET.  Fans can catch the action broadcasted live on FS2.

High Flying Offenses

Heading into this matchup, the key factor will be which team can best contain the opposing offense. Indy enters this match ranking second in the league in kills per set (13.85) and blocks per set (2.59). However, they have a tall task with facing Orlando, who leads the league in hitting efficiency (27.6%), service aces (32), and points per set (17.48). Look for Orlando to come out of the gates ready to defend home court, as these two teams met back on January 11, where Indy beat Orlando in four sets at home.

This will be the second meeting between Orlando and Indy this season, with Indy taking the first match in four sets back on January 11.

Valkyries Players to Watch:

Natalie Foster (Middle Blocker): One of the league’s most polished rookies, Foster boasts the third highest hitting percentage (43%), second highest amount of service aces (13) and ranks eighth in blocks (16). She comes off Thursday’s match in Atlanta recording five kills and three service aces. Indy will have to prepare to get a full dosage of Natalie Foster this time around, as they didn’t see her much in the first matchup.

Kaz Brown (Middle Blocker): In the first matchup between Orlando and Indy earlier this season, Brown totaled five kills on 16 attacks. Brown comes into this second matchup fresh off a six kill, three block performance versus Atlanta on Thursday, moving to tenth in the league in blocks (15).

Ignite Players to Watch:

Azhani Tealer (Opposite Hitter): Tealer made her mark against her former team with a career high of 19 kills, three blocks and nine digs, as she’ll look to be motivated yet again on Saturday. Tealer racked up 14 kills on a .632 hitting efficiency in a home loss to Omaha on Thursday.

Leketor Member-Meneh (Outside Hitter): Coming into this contest leading the league in kills per set (5.07), Member-Meneh will look to replicate the success she had earlier versus Orlando, posting 25 kills on a .360 hitting percentage. On Thursday, she tallied a double-double with 19 kills and 12 digs, marking a double-double in every match this season.
