ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Valkyries will kick off the second season of Pro Volleyball Federation, as they take on the San Diego Mojo on Thursday, January 9 at 7 p.m. The match will take place at Addition Financial Arena and will be nationally broadcast on FS2. Tickets for the game are still available, and fans can visit the Orlando Valkyries website for additional information.
Last season, these two teams met four times, with San Diego winning three out of four matches. All four matches went on in five sets. Orlando is coming off an 8-16 record, while San Diego finished with a 13-12 record in 2024.
Valkyries Players to Watch:
Brittany Abercrombie joins the Valkyries with seven years of professional experience, making stops in Poland, Germany, Puerto Rico, Turkey and South Korea. Throughout her professional career, she was crowned champion of Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball league in 2024, as well as a member of the Puerto Rican National Team from 2021-23. At the University of Southern California, she earned two-time All-Pac-12, two-time AVCA All-Pacific South Region, and named an AVCA All-American in 2017.
Kaz Brown returns for her second season in Orlando, looking to build on a strong performance from 2024, where she was named Middle Blocker of the Year and awarded a spot on the All-League second team. Throughout her 2024 campaign, Brown finished second in the league with 68 blocks and second in hitting percentage at .333. Prior to Orlando, she played five years of professional volleyball in Germany, Ukraine, France, and Greece. Before her professional career, Brown played at the University of Kentucky where she holds the career record for total blocks, solo blocks, and block assists. She also earned three-time All-SEC and Three-time AVCA All-Region honors.
Pornpun Guedpard signed with Orlando this offseason, bringing nine years of professional experience. A veteran Setter from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, Guedpard has made stops in Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Romania, and South Korea. She is the captain of the Thailand National Team and ranked as high as the world’s top setter in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in 2022.
Mojo Players to Watch:
Ronika Stone enters her second year with San Diego looking to continue to dominate as one of the top Middle Blockers in the league. Stone led the league with a .336 hitting percentage and tied for eighth in service aces with 13. She led the Mojo with 96 sets played in 2024 and was named to the All-League second team. Prior to her time in San Diego, she has played professionally in Puerto Rico and France. Stone played at the University of Oregon, where she was a three-time All-Pac-12 first team recipient and is one of two players in University of Oregon history to rank into the top ten for blocks and points.
Shara Venegas is a key piece returning for San Diego, as she had a strong 2024 campaign as a libero, where she recorded 345 digs, ranking fourth in the league. Venegas comes with more than 12 years of professional experience playing in Puerto Rico, where she became a seven-time champion. She was also part of the Puerto Rico Olympic team in 2016 in Rio.
Rainelle Jones comes back to San Diego after registering 85 kills, 35 blocks and 28 digs in 69 sets in 2024. Jones played professionally in the Italian Serie A1 league in 2022. She played collegiately at the University of Maryland, where she led the NCAA in blocks per set in 2021 (1.73) and 2022 (1.59). She finished her collegiate career ranking third all-time in Big Ten history in block assists and fifth in total blocks.
