The Columbus Fury have signed veteran middle blocker Beta Dumancic as their latest free agency addition for the 2025 season. Dumancic, a native of Croatia, most recently played for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece during the 2023-24 campaign. A member of the Croatia women’s national volleyball team, she competed and won a silver medal at the 2021 Women’s European Volleyball League.
“Beta brings a lot of international experience,” said Fury head coach Angel Perez. “Her knowledge of the game will help us in the development of all our young talent. In a position where experience is important, we are fortunate to have her.”
Dumancic previously played professionally for nearly decade in seven different clubs throughout Europe, including Zanetti Bergamo (now Volley Bergamo) in Italy’s Serie A1 League, widely considered one of the oldest and most prestegious women's national leagues in European volleyball. She played collegiately stateside at Clemson University and Jefferson College (MO). New to Pro Volleyball Federation, Domancic said she is excited to return to the United States.
“It feels natural, full circle, and it makes me very happy and grateful,” said Domanic. “Coach has an amazing ‘ready to work’ energy and seems to have a great plan and vision about the team he’s putting together and I can’t wait to see what this group will be able to achieve.”
