OMAHA, Neb. – San Diego Mojo setter Nootsara Tomkom was named the Pro Volleyball Federation Setter of the Year, the league announced on Tuesday. The PVF also announced the selection of Tomkom and middle blocker Ronika Stone to the Pro Volleyball Federation All-League Second Team.
Eight of the league’s 10 season awards were announced on Tuesday. The League MVP and Coach of the Year accolades will be announced as part of the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Awards Celebration on Thursday evening.
Tomkom, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, has tallied 932 assists this season with an average of 10.59 per set, both the third-best marks in the league.
Stone, who hails from San Jose, Calif., leads the league with a .336 hitting percentage and is tied for sixth .406 kill percentage. Her 51 blocks are the sixth-most in the league and her 13 service aces are tied for seventh.
The All-League First and Second Teams were comprised of seven players per squad, regardless of position. The teams contained five outside hitters, three middle blockers and setters, two opposite hitters and one libero.
The Mojo will play the Omaha Supernovas in the PVF Championship semifinals on Wednesday, May 15 at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the CHI Health Center in downtown Omaha.
The inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation Championship will be held on May 15 and 18 at the CHI Health Center. San Diego is among four teams that will compete for the first-ever title in the nation’s top professional volleyball league and a player bonus of $1 million. The other teams include the top-seed Atlanta Vibe, second-seed Omaha and fourth-seed Grand Rapids Rise. Fans can purchase tickets for the two semifinal sessions through this link.
