San Diego Mojo (9-10) at Grand Rapids Rise (10-11)
The San Diego Mojo and Grand Rapids will square off for back-to-back matches on Saturday and Sunday in Michigan. The squads have met two previous times this season, both of which were victories for the Mojo in San Diego – a four-setter on February 23 that marked the first win in Mojo history and a five-set showdown on March 4. The Rise are currently in third place in the league with a 10-11 record, percentage points ahead of the Mojo (9-10).

San Diego Mojo Outlook
San Diego heads to Grand Rapids fresh off a 2-1 home stand and winners of six of nine in the month of April. The Mojo have played in a Pro Volleyball Federation record six consecutive five-set matches with victories in four including the last time out against the Orlando Valkyries. Against Orlando, Willow Johnson had a match-high 20 points and 17 kills for San Diego and added three blocks and nine digs. Ronika Stone had 13 kills, scoring on 13 -of-22 swings (59 percent), with two blocks and seven digs. Ali Bastianelli tallied a match-high four blocks and scored 10 points with six kills, while August Raskie had her first double-double of the season, posting 14 assists and 13 digs.
Thomas-Ailara is averaging 16.1 points per match this season, the sixth-best mark in the league, while Stone is averaging 10.3 points and Lindsey Vander Weide is at 8.6 per contest. Johnson has scored 17.5 points per outing through her first four matches with the Mojo.
Stone leads the team with 42 block wins, the ninth-most in the league, while her 2.2 block wins per match are the sixth-most. Bastianelli is just behind her in both categories with 38 blocks (11th) and an average of 2.0 per match (10th in the PVF).
Tomkom ranks second in the PVF averaging 10.7 assists per set, one of four players in the league averaging double-digits, and her 794 total assists are third overall. Shara Venegas has collected 288 successful digs this season, the fifth-most in the league, while Tomkom is seventh with 249 digs.
Grand Rapids Rise Outlook
Grand Rapids has lost their last two matches overall but has earned wins in each of their last two home contests. The Rise fell to the Columbus Fury on the road on Sunday in three sets, two days after dropping a five-set match at Orlando. The Rise scoring effort is led by Claire Chaussee (18.1) and Emiliya Dimitrova (18.0), who rank second and third in the league, respectively. Marin Grote is second in the PVF with 59 block wins and is averaging 2.8 per match, while Ashley Evans tops the league averaging 10.9 assists per set and her total of 884 sets is second-most in the league. Four Rise players have reach double-digits in service aces – Grote (14), Chaussee (13), Dimitrova (12) and Evans (11).
