SAN DIEGO – Our San Diego Mojo put on yet another electric performance last Saturday at home with a 5-set win over the Grand Rapids Rise. The women played scrappy volleyball on both sides, which made for an entertaining nail-biter for the crowd. This Monday March 11th the team faces the Orlando Valkyries at Viejas. Orlando boasts a strong lineup with 26-year veteran Aurea Cruz and outside hitter Jill Gillian, standing at five feet seven inches. Gillian shares the title of the shortest hitter with Atlanta Vibe’s Leketor Member-Meneh in Real Pro Volleyball. Gillian is not to be underestimated, however, as she is consistently highlighted for her impressive vertical jump and aggressive attack. Orlando currently holds a total of nine games under their belt with four wins and five losses. It will be interesting to see how they will play on March 11 against San Diego who has two fewer games under their belt. However, Mojo also just received a new player, Kylie Cole, who has professionally played for Atlanta Vibe, Athletes Unlimited and Terville-Florange OC (France). In Mojo’s last game against Grand Rapids, Lindsey Vander Weide scored a team high 20 points and Temi Thomas Ailara followed with 18 points. With Cole, Vander Weide and Thomas Ailara Mojo has the chance to crush the remainder of the season. This excitement continues as we extend the invitation to attend to fans and media for the upcoming three home games. The tremendous energy and support from the avid fans during the opening match have set the stage for an unforgettable season at home, and the team plans to repeat this on March 11 vs Orlando Valkyries, April 2nd vs Omaha Supernovas and April 7th vs Columbus Fury. With an arena engulfed in passion and a team prepared to showcase exceptional performance, the upcoming matches promise to be thrilling and action-packed.
