Columbus Fury host the Omaha Supernovas for Opening Night

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Fury (0-2) will open their home schedule on Wednesday, February 21, when the host the Omaha Supernovas (4-2) at 7 p.m. in Nationwide Arena. The much anticipated home opener will give the Fury a chance to put their first mark in the win column against a tough Supernovas team. 

Fury Players to Watch

Reagan Cooper has led the Fury in kills in each of their first two contests. The rookie more than doubled her kill total from the season opener with 19 kills to lead all players in the match at Orlando. She hit .430 for the match while also adding five digs and an ace.  

Valeria Leon has had back-to-back outings with 13 digs to open the season. She has been a solid presence on the back line, passing at a high level to get the Fury offense started. A former Buckeye, Leon will once again be in front of the Columbus sports faithful showcasing her talent.

Notes on the Supernovas

  • Omaha is on a three-match winning streak, grabbing wins on the road at Las Vegas and Grand Rapids and most recently earning a 3-1 victory over Orlando at home. 
  • Bethania De La Cruz leads Pro Volleyball Federation with 19 aces through six matches. She has had two matches where she totaled six aces.
  • As a team, the Supernovas are hitting .240 as a team through six matches which is tied for the league lead with Grand Rapids.

Match Promotions

The team will have two giveaways at the door on a first come, first serve basis. Fury-branded beanies and t-shirts will be given out in partnership with Pillar Partners, Nationwide and Mount Carmel.

The team will also be hosting local club teams at the match, with an expectation of over 3500 young athletes in attendance.
