COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Columbus Fury begins its first training camp on Tuesday, January 2. Coach Ángel Pérez will conduct two daily practice sessions for the three-week camp. The Fury welcomes 16 athletes, including three selected in the recent Pro Volleyball Federation Draft. The draftees joining the Fury are first overall pick, Asjia O’Neal, the 14th pick, Reagan Cooper, and the 28th pick, Jenaisya Moore. Pro Volleyball Federation rosters feature Olympians, NCAA All-Americans, and NCAA National Champions, as well as those experienced at the professional level.

Among those to watch will be the No. 1 overall selection in the recent Pro Volleyball Federation Draft, Asjia O’Neal, a two-time NCAA National Champion and three-time All-American, Megan Courtney Lush, also a two-time NCAA National Champion and 2014 Most Outstanding Player for the NCAA Tournament, and Jenna Rosenthal, who brings five years of professional experience to the team and most recently earned a second-place finish with Allianz MTV Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga.

Other players of interest include Buckeye greats, Ashley Wenz, who earned an All-American nod in 2017, and Valeria León, who finished her career as OSU’s program leader in digs. Puerto Rican League standouts, Raymariely Santos and Ivania Ortiz, each of whom won a league championship under the leadership of coach Pérez also join the roster.

“We are excited to start training camp and get our team in the gym,” explained coach Pérez. “We are looking forward to getting everyone to Columbus and to begin building our Fury culture for the inaugural season!”

Team rosters must be trimmed to 14 players, plus two practice players, by Monday, January 22. Training camp will once again take place at Mintonette Sports (Fieldhouse USA) at the Polaris Fashion Mall (1400 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus, OH 43240). The camp schedule will be as follows:
