Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Fury of the Pro Volleyball Federation has announced the hiring of Christopher Rooks as Director of Corporate Partnerships and Jessica McCombs as Corporate Partnerships Executive.
“We are excited to secure a high-quality pair of individuals at the level of Chris and Jessica,” said Dr. David Paitson, CEO of the Columbus Fury. “The Pro Volleyball Federation is North America’s premier women’s professional volleyball league. The level of interest and rate of growth in women’s sports properties is an exciting trend. We believe professional volleyball will secure a unique and quality audience. We look forward to engaging with prospective partners interested in reaching this group.”
Rooks, a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University, brings 20 years of experience to the Columbus Fury. Rooks spent 12 years in professional sports settings in both corporate business development and player programming roles with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the NBA G-League, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also served in senior management with the NBA’s Team Marketing and Business Operations (TMBO) and Community and Player Programs departments. Most recently, Rooks was a National Key Account Manager for Rhinegeist Brewery headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio.
McCombs holds an MBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Most recently, McCombs worked with Ohio State Athletics in the Creative Branding and Business Advancement departments. Through the Fisher College of Business MBA program, she conducted external Marketing and Corporate Partnership consulting work for Flying Horse Farms, Homage, and TATA Play in India. She also worked on the Corporate Partnerships Team in the university’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development and was the volleyball program Director at All Out Sports.
