Podraza Named Columbus Fury Team Services Director

Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Fury has announced the hiring of Christine Podraza as Team Services Director. Podraza will provide leadership and strategies for all areas of team services and operations, including serving as a resource of support for the player’s professional, personal, and social development. Podraza’s experience will help the Columbus Fury towards its 2024 inaugural season and redefine what it means to compete at the highest level.

“I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Columbus Fury,” said Podraza. “Having a women’s professional volleyball league in the U.S. is such an awesome opportunity for current players and the young players that will come in the future. I’m proud to join the organization as the team continues to build and develop in the great city of Columbus! We have a crazy fanbase as well as one of the largest junior organizations in the country, so it’s a perfect city and a perfect time to release the FURY!”

“As someone who has played professionally, has been part of a league start-up, and has been a fixture in the local volleyball community, Christine will be a tremendous asset to our organization,” said Fury CEO, Dr. David Paitson. “Her experience and insight into what it takes to succeed as a professional athlete will serve as a tremendous asset to our players.”

The University of Minnesota Hall of Fame inductee served as the Vice President of Operations for Beach Volleyball of America and played professionally with the WPVA, AVP, and FIVB in Switzerland. Additionally, Podraza was a three-time All-Big Ten athlete, an NCAA All-American, and has been an analyst for FOX Sports and ESPN.

The Columbus Fury will begin play at Nationwide Arena in early 2024. For more information about the Fury and season tickets, visit columbusfury.com and @columbusfury on social media.
