Atlanta Professional Volleyball Franchise Announces Gas South Arena As Home Venue

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Pro Volleyball Federation team has selected Gas South Arena as its home venue when it opens its inaugural season in early 2024, the team announced Thursday.

Gas South Arena is the centerpiece of Gwinnett County’s Gas South District, which also includes a convention center and theater, and will seat over 10,000 in the setup for Atlanta Pro Volleyball matches.

“We are thrilled to have reached an agreement with Gas South Arena to serve as our franchise’s home venue in its inaugural season,” team owner Colleen Craig said.  “The facility is the perfect size as we look to develop a strong fan base and create a loud and exciting vibe for our home matches.”

“We are thrilled that Gas South Arena will be the home venue of Atlanta Pro Volleyball Federation,” said Stan Hall, CEO of the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “Women’s volleyball is a sport that is growing exponentially…and this is a very exciting time for the entire Atlanta area with the news of pro volleyball being added to the roster of events hosted at our facility.  We look forward to working alongside the team to bring world-class players, coaches and teams to our community and to volleyball fans throughout the region.”

The Atlanta team will formally announce its name, colors, and logo at 12:30 p.m. August 4th during the AVP’s (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Beach Volleyball Gold Series Atlanta Open, held at Atlantic Station in midtown Atlanta.  The announcement is open to all patrons holding Friday AVP tickets.  Attendees will hear from the team owner and League founders, among others, as well as having an opportunity to interact with players and coaching staff.

“We wanted to include the announcement of our home venue in our August 4th event, but the excitement has been steadily building over the last few months to the point that we couldn’t keep the news to ourselves until then,” Craig added.
