Van Andel Arena is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Serving as West Michigan's premier entertainment destination hosting numerous sports events, family shows, concerts, comedy shows and more each year. Van Andel Arena is also the home to the Grand Rapids Griffins, the AHL hockey team, the Grand Rapids Gold, NBA G League team as well as the Pro Volleyball Federation’s Grand Rapids Rise.

Since marking its Grand Entrance on October 8, 1996, Van Andel Arena has attracted the biggest names in family shows, concerts and sporting events. Acts such as Neil Diamond, Disney On Ice, NCAA Hockey Regional Championships, the AFL Arena Bowl XV game, Detroit Pistons & Michigan State University basketball exhibition games, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Metallica, Bob Seger, P!nk, Justin Timberlake and more!

PARKING AROUND VAN ANDEL ARENA

  • Reserved Parking - Rise fans can reserve a parking spot near the Van Andel Arena before heading to the match. Click here to reserve your space.
  • Studio Park - Enjoy covered parking across the street from the south end of Van Andel Arena.
  • Park and DASH to the Match - The Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) offers a convenient way to get around downtown. DASH buses pass every stop every 15 minutes, and there is a DASH stop right in front of Van Andel Arena.   • Use the Skywalk - Stay out of the cold and skip the traffic around the arena when you park near the Skywalk at ramps just a few minutes' walk to and from the arena.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The Grand Rapids Rise are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, enjoyable match experience in and around Van Andel Arena. All Rise fans have a right to expect an environment where:

  • Fans will be treated in a consistent, professional, and courteous manner by all arena and team personnel.
  • Fans will enjoy an experience free from disruptive behavior, including:
    • Verbal or physical harassment of other fans
    • Obscene, offensive, or abusive language or gestures
    • Disruptive, harmful, dangerous, or illegal behavior

  • Fans will not engage in fighting, throwing objects onto the court or entering the court surface. Fans who engage in any of these actions will be automatically ejected and could be prohibited from attending future Rise games. 
  • Fans will not smoke inside Van Andel Arena, as the arena and its surrounding areas are non-smoking, and re-entry to the arena after exiting to smoke is not allowed. This policy includes e-cigarettes and vaping.
  • Fans will pass through a security checkpoint before entering Van Andel Arena. Purses and other small bags smaller than 4.5"x 6.5" will be permitted into the arena after being searched. Large bags, i.e., backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, large purses, etc., will be prohibited from entry, except bags used to carry skates into the arena for games that feature post-game open skates.
  • Fans will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated, or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Fans will comply with requests from arena staff regarding arena operations and emergency response procedures.

The Rise and arena staff have been trained to intervene where necessary to help ensure that the above expectations are met, and fans are encouraged to report any inappropriate behavior to the nearest usher, security guard, or guest services staff member. Fans who choose not to adhere to these provisions will be subject to ejection without refund and possible revocation of season tickets and may also be in violation of city ordinances, resulting in possible arrest and prosecution.
